Visit:
El Fuerte - a small, charming colonial town with quaint
churches, cobble-stoned streets and picturesque views.
Cerocahui - a village founded in 1694 by
Jesuit missionaries. Visit the historic old mission church with the
original altar which dates back to the mid 1700’s and still
intact.
Barrancas - located right on the Canyon’s
edge, with magnificent views overlooking the Canyon which is home
to the primitive Tarahumara Indians.
Divisadero - a fantastic place
to purchase some local Indian handicrafts.
Creel - a small town with pine forests,
lakes and strange rock formations. Creel is the provincial centre
for the Tarahumara Indians. Nearby you will find picturesque Lake
Arareko and Cascada Cusarare, a 30m high waterfall in a beautiful
surrounding.
Chihuahua - the end of the train line, and
a pleasant and very prosperous city which still has many fine colonial
buildings. |
